Regional Synchronization is a system of promoting a plumb state to the body’s frame by synchronizing the three body regions. The plumb state is defined as the body’s correct anatomical position relative to the gravitational plumb line that passes downward through the body’s center. Each region is synchronized by correcting subluxated bones with their balance partners, referred to as couplings, that have deviated from plumb which are indicated by a short leg syndrome, x-ray (when available), and patient posture observation. These couplings are corrected using established chiropractic manipulative techniques.

Whatever practical means doctors have to correct the problem is at their discretion. Multiple techniques may be employed to achieve the eventual correction. The beauty of this method is that it can be incorporated into your practice with little if any patient resistance.

What makes this method fascinating is its binary approach to balance management. The body’s balance mechanism is managed by the same life force that manages all body functions. This force flows directionally from above down and from the inside out. The directional flow of balance coincides from top to bottom, left to right and front to back. Balance by definition involves a minimum of two objects. When a group of multiple objects are balancing another group of objects of equal value (such as the case in the human skeleton), each component (bone) of a given group balances only with its counterpart in the opposing group. In the human body, balance responses occur automatically under the management of that omnipresent life force that many chiropractors refer to as innate intelligence. During this phenomenon, when a bone deviates from plumb, it automatically engages at least one other bone to compensate and maintain balance. The McArthur Method recognizes this and has devised a comprehensive system of identifying both the primary and compensating bones and includes both in the correction process. What and where to adjust is determined from a unique interpretation of the standard leg check, used widely by chiropractors, along with x-ray and postural observation. How it is corrected is up to the doctor. Any single or combination of techniques can deliver results.
Your body has its own hidden balance code. Using the McArthur Method, we can read that code and help your body restore its optimal, natural alignment. Here’s how the process works: regions that are collectively engaged in keeping you in sync with each other in a gravity environment. These are time tested theories based on the natural laws of balance ubiquitous throughout nature and exert influence on everyone. This process is built around the universal laws of balance and provide a standard process for all chiropractic applications.

We begin by looking closely at your posture. This may include photos, leg checks, or X-rays. These simple observations give us the clues we need.

Your body balances around three key bones — one in your head (sphenoid), one in your neck (C5), and one in your lower back (L3). We check how these are lined up with gravity.

The body follows predictable patterns when it’s out of balance. We identify which of the eight “balance codes” your body is using to compensate.

Once we understand your pattern, we apply a precise, gentle adjustment. The goal is to restore your body’s natural balance — not to force it.

We re-check your posture, leg length, and symmetry to confirm that balance has improved.

You leave feeling more centered, aligned, and supported in your body’s natural healing process.
The McArthur Method is a gentle, scientific approach to restoring your body’s natural balance. By observing your posture and checking three key bones — in your head, neck, and lower back — we can decode your unique “balance pattern.” With a precise adjustment, we help your body re-center itself, improving posture, symmetry, and stability so your own healing power can do the rest.
